Marian Reed, BA (Hons) FIRP - Director
Professional History
Marian has been a recruitment professional for almost 20 years.
Her experience is expansive; throughout the North East and across the spectrum
of sectors.
In 2006, she recognised the need for a specialist R2R to be based in the
northern region, so Mackenzie Brown came into being. Marian utilised her
knowledge by offering a bespoke recruitment service; one in which clients
and candidates can trust. She has created a business synonymous with
confidentiality and industry expertise. She has succeeded in placing Mackenzie
Brown at the heart of the North Eastern recruitment environment.
Marian is FIRP accredited and she is delighted to be part of a progressive,
driven business, working with talented, interesting individuals;
colleagues, clients and candidates.
Personal History:
Marian is justifiably proud to have obtained a Business Management degree
while immersed in the often frenetic world of recruitment. As reflected in
the transferable skills the Mackenzie Brown team possesses, she values
experience, education and training.
Currently, Marian is studying French. Perhaps, clients may have a different
accent in the future? When the iPhone isn't ringing, she likes to attend the
gym, or spending time with her much loved dogs walking in woods and fells.
Quite simply, Mackenzie Brown Recruitment is the R2R which understands individual
diversity and complexity. We support candidates in making the right career choice
based on professional and personal aspirations. We pride ourselves in extending
that same consideration and understanding of our clients' business needs and
ethical framework.
Clare Owen, AIRP - Recruitment Consultant
Professional History
Clare Owen became a recruiter in 2007 having been in the Navy for 7 years.
The professionalism and ethical stance she gained in the military is evident in
her attitude to recruitment. She started as a Resourcer working international
accounts in the Oil, Gas, Wind, Transmission and Distribution markets.
Mackenzie Brown is delighted that Clare chose R2R to develop her recruitment
acumen; she joined us as a Recruitment Consultant in 2011. Her knowledge,
dedication and organisation has facilitated expansion, ensuring that Mackenzie
Brown's remit now extends throughout the northern region.
Clare personifies Mackenzie Brown's energy and dynamism making us a leading
name in R2R. She has attended REC training and is accredited AIRP.
She is an asset to the MBR team.
Personal History:
Clare is justifiably proud to have been in the Senior Service; a 7 year naval
career. She often comments, wryly, that she can drive a warship but can't park
her Clio!
She travelled the world serving on Destroyers, working in Communications;
signalling and code. She is also qualified in British Sign Language.
Unsurprisingly, Clare is a 'people person' enjoying building relationships
with clients and candidates, talking to recruiters and listening to their needs.
The challenging, fast paced recruitment environment can be described as
stressful, but Clare trained as a Firefighter in the Navy, so no need to ask
her how she deals with pressure. She even has time to instill some self
discipline in her Chocolate Labrador, Leo...a highly intelligent puppy,
but what else would be expected of Mackenzie Brown personnel?
Peter Wallace, AIRP - Recruitment Resourcer
Professional History
Peter Wallace joined Mackenzie Brown almost 6 years ago as an Administrator.
However, his understanding of the recruitment business juxtaposed with his
expansive office management skills ensured that his promotion to Resourcing
Consultant was immediate. Peter's knowledge of and ability to utilise
e-technologies has ensured that Mackenzie Brown is 'in touch' with clients and
candidates.
He personifies our innovative thinking, keeping us ahead in a fast paced
business environment. He is a committed recruiter, and has attended REC
training so that Mackenzie Brown remains at the forefront in a changing, challenging market.
He is accredited AIRP and an asset to Mackenzie Brown Recruitment.
Personal History:
Peter is from the North East so, surprisingly, is a football fan! He supports
a team from each of the different countries he has lived in, including the
Queensland Lions in Australia and Stirling Albion in Scotland.
After studying English at John Moore University, he travelled extensively.
This 'world view' has influenced his professional and personal outlook.
He is active in his local community, demonstrating a keen sense of civic
responsibility. He has even discovered a new skill, showing an aptitude for
media appearances on TV and radio.
He is a hardworking individual, father and husband. He was delighted to get
married at Kensington & Chelsea registry office on the King's Road in June 2011.
